About the studio

Longwave Studio has been in the old telephone exchange since 2015. Two live rooms, an edit suite and four people who have made more than fourteen hundred episodes between them. Some of the shows are ours. Most belong to someone else.

About this episode

Marcus Feld talks to founder Tobias Lindqvist about the quarter he took his team off targets, what it cost, and what it turned up.

Counterweight is a monthly interview show. The client records; we edit, mix and publish.

How it was made

This one came to us as two remote tracks and a transcript. We cleaned the room tone, matched the two voices, cut nineteen minutes of throat-clearing and false starts, and wrote the chapters and show notes.

Remote recordings are usually fixable. The two things we cannot fix later are a laptop microphone and a hard room, so we send a short setup note before every remote session.

Editing and mixing on its own is the cheapest way to work with us, and for a lot of shows it is the only part they actually need.

Client Stories

A guest laughing mid-interview at a studio microphone.

"We turned up with a title and a rough idea.

Eight weeks later we had a show that sounded like it had been running for years"
